@CommonsWorkPen @MuslimCouncil @churchofengland The policy should be lifted because in the UK we believe that every child should have the best start in life. This means access to free healthcare, a good education & a childhood free from poverty. We wouldnât turn away a sick child from our hospitals or stop them going to school

Jenny had a baby in July 2017, just after the two-child limit came into effect: âIt wasnât a planned pregnancy but we were happy we had him'. Jennyâs mum is no longer able to help with childcare, âbecause my mum is older now and canât do it, and weâve moved a bit further awayâ...

Today we, @churchofengland, @womensaid, @turn2us_org and @refugeecouncil have published new research on the #twochildlimit [THREAD]
About 160,000 families have been affected already; most are working families and most have three children.
As a result of this policy, 300,000 children will be pushed into poverty and one million children, already in poverty, will be pushed even deeper into poverty by 2023/24.
