Metford Rd benefits from having long term volunteer site reps who have initiated much of the wildlife friendly action across the site, as well as supporting plot holders and young DofE & Scouts volunteers to take action.
What 'wildife infrastructure' does the site already have? The Cran brook runs between Metford Rd & Redland Green allotment sites. Trees grow either side of the stream and provide nesting, food and shelter for birds and other wildlife

Dad, a teacher on #sthelier council estate was the son of a Rhondda valley miner who had died at 49 of TB & silicosis. Mum is a Geordie handweaver who drove 3-ton lorries in the war. Her father had been orphaned age 7 when his Dad died of TB. 3/15

AGM has begun. Neil our chairman welcomes everyone.

It’s been a great year and we had a fab outing to @kewgardens.
Any ideas for our 2020 outing are very welcome.

We held a BBQ for our plot holder members for the first time - a really successful venture, especially the bouncy castle for our smallest allotmenteers.
We’ve built concrete compost bins - thanks to Adrian and Larry for their most excellent construction skills.

We’re also planning a cookbook of recipes from our plotholders. Available in all good bookshops* soon...

* our clubhouse and online too!
