#Ethiopia: Desta Adu Worku, a reporter at the state daily Ethiopian Herald, says Ethiopian Press Agency (EPA) G. Manager Sebsebe kebede (1st pic) & his deputy, Mebrahtom Kiros, were "sacked". Both were long serving employees of EPA which is the largest state owned media company.
B/ground: EPA is the oldest state owned media company established in 1961. It publishes 4 state-owned newspapers & one magazine: the English daily The Ethiopian Herald, the Amharic daily Addis Zemen , the Afaan Oromo newspaper Bariissa & the Arabic Al Alem, and Zemen magazine.
Update: "Getenet Taddesse has been appointed as EPA Manager while Dr. Henok Seyoum & Wendemu Tekele have been picked as [Deputy] Managers,"Jurno Desta says. Getenet is documentary & Cinema Director & News Anchor at Walta. He has previously worked at the #Amhara Mass Media Agency.
