Zalatel says on Dec 14 they had a meeting of the utilities and enterprise oversight committee dedicated to the port. She highlights that the port isn't a topic they discuss at the dyas regularly, but the meeting was intended to create a stable plan on funding. #ANCgov

Low attendance at the Chambers today, as has been largely the norm since the rules change that moved Audience Participation to the end of the meeting in favor of appearance requests. A gaggle of students in the room though, thanks local government classes! #ANCgov

Just made it to the Mountain View Library for the Alaska Community Input Session on Police Accountability. Small crowd so far, but lots of Taco King! I'll do my best to keep a thread going of what goes on during the session 🤟 #ANCgov

Now that the candidates for the Assembly have been announced, I'm gonna start digging into who will be on the ballot. First up is Stephanie Taylor, who will be challenging Forrest Dunbar for East Anchorage. #ANCgov 1/
On Taylor's website, she lists her issues: Homelessness, Re-Investing in Downtown, and Taxes. Let's start with Homelessness. She claims we are "coddling" the houseless and need to hold them "accountable" for their crime and drug use. #ANCgov 2/
She continues that we must partner with non-profits and faith-based group to help the houseless. This is tantamount to saying that the city government has no direct responsibility to its houseless citizens, and rather independent orgs and churches should bear the weight. 3/

1/4 there seems to be a lot of conversation about #JamieAllard blocking constituents, she has done so to many of her constituents. She has blocked people without even having conversations with them, she blocked them purely as a result of a differing opinion.
2/4 when does that become illegal? “a site is more likely a site for government business if a public official generally allows individuals to ask for government services through a social media account, links through the account to a public office address, email or phone number,
3/4 displays government symbols, shares information about government services or meetings, and/or asks for input about how government business should be conducted” #JamieAllard has provided #SaveAnchorage with talking points and links. While often asking what they want to see.
Today's Assembly #ANCgov meeting starts at 5pm, Tuesday November 23 at the Loussac Library and streamed online. Business includes next year's budget, a resolution honoring Eugene Haberman, more board appointments.
