Here's a quick #Senedd2021 thread, if anyone gives dau gachiad:
As an active anarchist, I organised Vote Nobody campaigns & spoilt my ballot at election time. By the time Social Campaign Group had control of the Labour party leadership, I was so politically inactive it seemed...
... almost childish not back their tilt at government in 2017. I was never so naive as to think it could change any of the fundamental problems of this society. But if you don't recognise what a unique opportunity the possibility could have been; for a more peaceful world...
... improved redistribution of wealth, increase in working class power etc, then I don't know what to say.
Things have changed a lot since then, that moment has passed.
I say all that to say this; I was a non-voter, Corbyn made me break a habit of a lifetime, now it's ...

The Hebrides and the Highlands🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 are currently enduring the same fates as Ynys Môn, Gwyr, Ceredigion, Gwynedd and other places. 2nd holiday homes displace residents+ makes buying a home unaffordable for local people. The Union🇬🇧 isn't working. It's never worked. #annibyniaeth🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿
What do gentrification and second holiday homes have in common? Both identify a community, move in, drive up house prices, render it unaffordable for local people [usually younger people] and displaces residents, usually breaking intergenerational ties to communities
At their heart, gentrification+second holiday homes function as parasites that systemically dismantle the communities within which they find themselves. Both need outsiders who benefit from economic precarity and labour market dynamics in a greater economic freedom to buy

We LOVED this piece published by @galdemzine
on the #independence campaign in #Scotland called "Is support growing for a radical, anti-racist independent #Scotland🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿?"

It is absolutely integral that discourses open up on conversations like this- independence is a crucial issue in Scotland in Wales. However, most conversations refuse to look at topics like racism, anti racism, state violence, incarceration, and failures of devolution for PoC
"A poll by Awaz FM, Scotland’s leading Asian radio, showed that 64% of listeners were intending to vote Yes. There is a collective voice emerging from Scotland’s PoC, and its support for independence is becoming increasingly clear."

We need info on this in #Wales, too!

When #Wales is independent, we want....

1⃣ huge levels of support for asylum seekers, refugees and people without recourse to public funds
2⃣ongoing efforts to minimise institutional racism in #Wales (including attainment gaps, incarceration etc)

8⃣free Welsh language lessons for everyone in #Wales, including bursaries for e.g. those on lower incomes to purchase equipment, or a childcare scheme to support parents

We are a group of people of colour who are supportive of #YesCymru and discussions in #Wales🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿 for #independence/#annibyniaeth.

We have created YesCymruPOC to adequately address topics of equality, representation, diversity and race in the #Welsh independence movement. 1/
Wales🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿 has a future beyond an unequal relationship in the Union🇬🇧, one that is based on exploitation, poverty and a lack of a developed public political sphere in Wales. 2/
Equally, we acknowledge the monolithic discussions on #independence/#annibyniaeth🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿 that have, at nearly every turn, erased the voices+contributions of #PeopleofColour in #Wales and the lived realities of race, racism and the #HostileEnvironment.
