Here's the state of play:
@newscientist, reviewing #ApocalypseCow, got its figures wrong.
@carolvorders, perhaps the most famous mathematician in the UK, compounded its mistake, with a colossal maths error.
NS has now retracted its error.
CV, despite several requests, has not.
@newscientist @carolvorders Because of their mistakes, several people on social media have accused me of lying. I politely, but firmly, request that they delete these accusations.
@newscientist @carolvorders What makes this esp galling is that I was scrupulous in sourcing my figures and explaining my sums, live-tweeting the references as the film went out. I don't know whether anyone has done that before. I wish the NS and Carol had checked before making their erroneous claims.

The agricultural age is ending. For most of humanity - and for the rest of the living planet - this is good news. Perhaps the best news we've had for centuries.
#Farmfree food.
My column.

I discussed this extraordinary shift towards #Farmfree food with Charlotte Smith on Farming Today this morning. From 9'30": bbc.co.uk/sounds/play/m0…
Our food will be produced on a tiny fraction of the land.
Its environmental impacts will be much smaller.
Nature can recover, and carbon can be drawn down on a massive scale.
Food will be cheaper and better.
Its supply will be far more reliable.
Everyone can be fed.

Here's the trailer for #ApocalypseCow, tomorrow evening, on Channel 4:
Because films don’t have footnotes, I will live-tweet the references for the statements of fact in #ApocalypseCow, as it is transmitted. If there is anything you feel I have not sourced, you are welcome to ask me the following day.
I will also be at the #ORFC20 (Oxford Real Farming Conference) on Thursday, in a pitchfork-proof vest. We're now hosting a special Q+A there about the film, at lunchtime.

On Wednesday, at 10pm, our film #ApocalypseCow premieres on Channel 4. It argues that farming will more or less come to an end within a few decades. All our food except fruit and veg will be produced by completely different means.
Yes, I mean farming - not just livestock farming
While there are hazards, and there will of course be losers, I believe this shift could be the best news we get this century, as it averts a series of horrendous humanitarian and environmental disasters. It will change everything, mostly for the better.
Those who will lose out (farmers) must be helped and supported, as their livelihoods will disappear. But for billions of people who would not otherwise be fed, this transition will be crucial: a matter of life and death.

Lots of people are going beserk about our film #ApocalypseCow, before they've seen it, or know what it contains. My suggestion: watch first, hate later.
10pm, Wednesday 8th January, Channel 4.
Some people also seem to have peculiar ideas of what constitutes an argument. This is not one:
Nor is this:
