Sunday, March 17, 2019, the #BataanMemorialDeathMarch will take place at White Sands Missile Range, New Mexico. The 26-mile course commemorates the #BataanDeathMarch, which followed the fall of the Philippine Province of Bataan, April 9, 1942. 
Isolated, hungry, and diseased, U.S. and Filipino forces fought the Japanese for three months before surrendering. The Japanese forced 60,000 weakened prisoners to march nearly 70 miles to Camp O’Donnell under grueling conditions. Thousands died or were killed along the march.
