Comencemos con los khipus, artefactos (nudos) usados para la contabilidad durante el imperio Inca. Según el cronista indígena Guamán Poma de Ayala (siglo XVII) y recientemente Sabine Hyland algunos también contenían mensajes “que podrían identificarse como epístolas narrativas”.
Hoy es difícil descifrar Quipus (o Khipus) debido a que no eran artefactos de libre acceso sino sagrados. Los encargados en preservarlos eran khipukamayuq (en #Quechua significa: creadores de Khipus), los cuales fueron asesinados durante la conquista europea [imagen: Guamán Poma]
