@GlobalFund 2021 #ResultsReport: A reader’s guide

#COVID19 is the headline, but there is a lot more to talk about, especially with the #7thReplenishment coming up.

a 🧵...
#TB is front and center, because it was worst hit by #COVID19. Resources in pulmonary health diverted from TB towards Covid19 – doctors, beds, GeneXpert machines and cartridges – on top of everything else.
🧵
#HIV was impacted too, especially #prevention and #testing. #Malaria fared better, probably in part because countries with endemic malaria were hit by #COVID19 latter, though testing did drop.

Today, I announced I'll sign an executive order requiring Hoosiers to wear face coverings in most public settings, beginning Monday.
As we continue to monitor the data, we’ve seen a concerning change in some of our key health indicators.

Hoosiers have worked hard to help re-open our state & we want to remain open.

By masking up, we can & will save lives & slow the spread of #COVID19.
A mask or other face covering may be:

➡️factory-made
➡️sewn by hand
➡️improvised from household items such as scarfs, bandanas & t-shirts.

It should cover the mouth & nose.

Through these initiatives, the state will allocate nearly $44 million to provide support and resources including approximately $37 million in direct funding through grants and investments to small businesses and manufacturers – two key drivers of the Hoosier economy.
To restart Indiana's economic engine, it's critical that we provide Hoosier businesses and entrepreneurs with the support they need to grow and get #BackOnTrack.

Today I announced that because health indicators remain positive, most of the state will advance to stage 3 of the #BackOnTrack Indiana plan on Friday, May 22.
Indiana Back On Track has five stages. For Cass, Lake and Marion counties – which started Stage 2 after other counties, stage 3 may begin on June 1. Local governments may impose more restrictive guidelines.
We continue to remain vigilant about protecting Hoosiers’ health while taking responsible steps to further open our state’s economy. Moving to stage 3 is possible because Hoosiers across the state have worked together and made sacrifices to slow the spread.

.@IndyMayorJoe: Indianapolis will relax local #coronaviruslockdown on Friday, 3 days ahead of schedule. He says "the sacrifices [residents] have made continue to save lives," even as the city mourns those who have died.
Hogsett says first step toward reopening Indy won't go as far as the statewide first step which began on Monday in 88 counties.
Friday: mass gatherings in Indy of up to 25 people (up from 10), as state has done. But unlike state order, religious services remain subject to cap.

Nonessential businesses, including malls, can reopen, with limits on capacity.
