1000s of #Migrants from Bihar who gathered at #BandraStation today to board Shramik train were lathicharged by police. They told me “We’re waiting for our chance since May 6, after doing registration. In absence of food & wages, all we want is family. Are we asking for too much?”
Some of them are tailors, some painters, some used to do construction jobs. They tried going back to their jobs but contractors didn’t take them back as they aren’t required right now due to lockdown. Mostly of these workers told me “Haven’t had 2 square meals from last 2 months”
Mostly of these #MigrantWorkers hail from Bihar. They told me “We have been waiting to go back home since May5, even after doing registration & medical test. Everyday we’re sent back from the station. We don’t have any money now, families haven’t eaten two square meals for weeks”

Thread 👇🏼

Check this thread out:
Keywords they used: 'Saazish', 'masjid', 'instigated', 'mob', 'CAA', and ya even 'Shaheen Bagh'.

The goal was to tell their viewers that these were not migrants in distress wanting to go back home, this was an anti-Modi, politically-motivated mob that wanted chaos.
