We are a large proportion of frontline MDs. We regularly work wildly long hours. In Ontario that includes up to 7 26h call shifts and two full weekends in a 28d block.
Post call is often our only time for appts and personal care.

It is #BellLetsTalk ...so let’s talk. Have you ever responded to the question “how are you doing?” with a “fine” or “good” even though you really weren’t fine or good?! I know I certainly have.
While every time you are asked it may not be a great time to delve into what is going on I challenge you and myself to be courageous enough to answer how you are really doing. Especially when talking with those people that you have around you that are your support system.
As a nurse I find that I am constantly observing and assessing my patients and residents. How are they doing (both physically and mentally)? Trying my hardest to notice the big and small changes that could mean they aren’t doing as well or hopefully doing better.
When I opened Twitter this morning and saw Scott Moe’s message about #BellLetsTalkDay, I was honestly floored.

@Bell In 2013, @Bell and the Ministry of Correctional Services signed a contract giving Bell control over the phones in Ontario prisons. The contract expires around the end of this month. Though the Ministry and Bell work hard to cover up the details, here’s what we know so far:
@Bell -Every call someone makes from a prison is a collect call. This means the person on the other end has to pay $1/minute, and that’s local – according to CBC, a long-distance call can be $25 for 20 minutes. The cost adds up quickly. cbc.ca/news/canada/ot…
