The 7-day incidence means the number of new infections per 100,000 inhabitants within seven days. According to RKI data, there are now several cities and districts across Germany that not only hit the critical 50 mark,
but also have an incidence of more than 100. Now the first district in Germany has clearly exceeded the 200 mark. The Robert Koch Institute gives the 7-day incidence in Berchtesgadener Land (Bavaria) on Monday morning as 252.1.
On Sunday, the 7-day incidence there, in the very south-east of Germany, was still 149.2. The exact background of this increase in the number of cases is not yet known. But: Berchtesgaden is in the immediate vicinity of the Austrian Corona hotspot Kuchl.
As #COVID19 cases are found to spread, #Melbourne (city of ~5 million) tries to contain them by going into #Lockdown.

In fact, Mecklenburg-Vorpommern's Corona-ordinance really prohibits entry of people from international risk areas AND german risk areas as well.
It's just not prominently featured on their websites.

#OTD vor 79 Jahren, am 20. Mai 1941, begann Unternehmen Merkur: Die deutsche Landung auf #Kreta. Hier ein Foto meines Großvaters im Transportflieger. Sein bester Freund und Mann seiner späteren Frau wird an diesem Tag fallen.
Zur Einleitung ein kurzer Blick zurück in das Jahr 1938. Mein Großvater Wilhelm tritt dem #Gebirgsjäger-Regiment 100 in Berchtesgaden bei, wird später Unteroffizier. Die „schönste Kaserne des Reiches“ beherbergt heute das Gebirgsjägerbataillon 232.
Dort lernt er seinen zukünftigen besten Freud Franz kennen. Dieser ist verheiratet mit Karoline, hier beide auf dem 🛷 vorne (Die Dame neben Opa kenne ich nicht 😗). Nun, das wird später relevant.
