My film POMMEL has been nominated for a #BIFA for BEST BRITISH SHORT!! Making this was a tumultuous and immensely difficult 2.5 year journey. I actually had a mental breakdown right before production. The difficulty in trying to tell authentic and diverse stories is real... 
It took 18 months to find a race/age/skills specific cast (2 British east Asian kids who could actually do gymnastics and act) ONLY THREE EXISTED IN UK. 3 days before production I almost lost funding due to a producer dropping out. It was knife edge the entire time.
These words are often used and not often true but I can genuinely say that we haven't seen a story quite like this on screen and its thanks to @jessplove @Films_CE @bfinetwork for enabling me to tell this story. To now be recognised by @BIFA_film is more than I can ask for.
