Erstens wird „trans-sein“ für einen politisch motivierten Kulturkampf vereinnahmt. Dadurch ist eine aufrichtige und durchdachte Konversation über die Medizin für trans Menschen, deren Rolle im Sport etc. nahezu unmöglich geworden.
Zweitens ist es für viele Leute schwierig, sich mit einer Realität auseinanderzusetzen, die nicht ihren traditionellen Vorstellungen von Geschlecht entspricht. Hinzu kommt das politische Akteure hieran anschließen und eine Fake-Science des binären Geschlechts verbreiten.
