Obstructions of the ureter can be caused by a number of factors and affect the physiological flow of urine from kidney to bladder. To overcome this issue, ureteral stents which have side-holes bypassing urine from ureter to stent and viceversa, are clinically implanted. 2/7 Image

Hijacking the pDawn light-inducible system to control lacI with light (dark = induced expression due to repression of lacI) - key further improvements were destabilization of lacI, and positive feedback loop for lacI expression in presence of light.
โ€œOptoLACโ€ circuits worked in different medias (rich and minimal), different strain backgrounds (including BL21 for protein production), and scalable into bioreactors (2L). Checked for both control of chemical production and protein production. Great system!
