Yeezy is a complicated asset. West owns 100% of it. But it’s functionally tied—at least for five-plus years

a 10x multiple, applied to West’s Yeezy cut of $140 million, makes his stake worth about $1.4 billion. But it’s a private, highly illiquid $1.4 billion;
So Kanye numerically maybe worth a billion but it's all bolstered, tied and controlled by Adidas and highly illiquid. If Kanye leaves Adidas it all falls apart. So he doesn't have money just a note. While he does have over 100 million in land and homes it's all costly debt.
From #BlackAf to this algebraic equation about Kanye's account, American has chosen to feed ADOS wish fulfillment stories instead of demand policy prescription during a pandemic that's ravaging ADOS communities all through out America.

REAL TALK: Telling a dark-skinned person that "Blackness is not a monolith" in conversations about colorism, only perpetuates the problem.
Time and time again, I find the conversations and concerns of dark-skinned Black people to be dismissed and treated as exclusionary towards light-skinned people.

Just like there is no reverse racism, there is no reverse colorism.
We need to stop perpetuating this false equivalency that light skinned people feeling not "Black enough" is the same as dark-skinned people being socially, culturally, and institutionally marginalized by everyone.

Watching this upheaval over #BlackAF with interest. I liked Blackish (for a while), didn't really take to Mixedish (weak premise) & never saw Grownish (not target audience). Simple maths shows that Barris does generally cast lighter-skinned, mixed-ish actors, period.
I do agree with the crowd saying there are many ways to be black. But those different ways have different challenges too. The real problem is flattening them all into one amalgam experience & presenting that same experience repeatedly, as if it's all the same. It's not.
There was one Blackish episode where Diane wasn't well lit in a photo where she was the only Black person. She tried to wave it aside, but the parents were adamant, & that was the first time Diane being the darkest in the family was addressed.

And she's not even that dark!

If you are #blackAF then you need to see what blacks are going through in China.
They are trying to deflect by blaming the black traders in the south of the country as being responsible for a growing second wave of coronavirus cases.
Even the local MacDonald's put up a sign saying No Blacks allowed. MacDees has since apologised...but they were only obeying the government
