July 10: #BOUNDARIES
Can’t screenshot this one today because it’s too long to fit. I got a little carried away. Boundaries are near and dear to me. Enjoy the 🧵
It’s my hope that we’re all familiar with the word #boundaries. Over the past few years, there have been a plethora of articles, podcasts, and think pieces discussing boundaries. Add whatever adjective you choose (personal, professional, physical, healthy, etc.). Have at it.
The point is still the same. We all need to define that line that others are not permitted to cross. Yes, you are allowed to do that. That’s your power and it’s not to be given nor taken away.

1. If your response to Armaud visiting a construction site is that he was a criminal trespasser & is now culpable in his execution we can’t be friends. I also don’t wanna get coffee with you to talk about it. I have no desire to include you in any aspect of my life.
2. I understand there are some older generations of black folks who are willing to meet w/ white supremacists & try to convince them to value them & grant them dignity; that’s not my generation tho. I’ll be nice to you, smile & be courteous, but will grant no access beyond that.
3. Also, if you are friends with people who are racist or who enable white supremacy, we can’t be friends. I don’t trust you enough for that type of relationship to occur. I will forever be kind, polite, and gracious towards you but we can’t be friends. Don’t tell folks we are.

@TheAdvocateMag @Amanda_Kerri I would, except your activists told me that “PTSD from sexual assault is a slippery slope” when I had concerns about being alone with intact males in vulnerable female spaces. Oh- and when TRAs started shaming and harassing Ls + Gs for their exclusive homosexuality. #homophobia
@TheAdvocateMag @Amanda_Kerri When TRAs called a woman who suffered from male violence and sexual abuse a “bigot” when she requested a *female* nurse for her cervical exam because she wasn’t comfortable with male hands on her body... #misogyny #MeToo #boundaries
@TheAdvocateMag @Amanda_Kerri ... When TRAs ganged up on *Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie*, celebrated feminist author, for saying “Trans women are trans women,” I thought maybe it’s against my best interests to support any activism that wishes to erase my sex class from having any meaning. #WomanMeansSomething

@girlsrituals 1/ Zucker repeatedly diverts attention from the core problems with what he pushes globally as the way to (mis)treat pre-pubertal GNC & trans children, which is plain abuse (ignoring or breaking vital boundaries), of thousands, over decades, & ongoing. He paints himself as the…
@girlsrituals 2/…victim, he manipulates others into being complicit & has them act in in his defence, he uses legal threats at the drop of a hat, he uses his editorships, he even claims that only #ReparativeTherapy against sexual orientation is unethical, despite Toronto law saying otherwise
@girlsrituals 3/ Unfortunately the Hinkle complaint, serious as it was, was, as it so often the case by the very nature of events, without corrobation, so Zucker was able to use it to threaten, & divert, again.

We desperately need his disbelief dogma gone from trans paediatric care globally…

#1: I have the right to ask for what I want.
You are allowed to ask. You don't have to mind-read beforehand to make sure the answer will be yes. You don't have to swallow everything you want or like or need. Sure, it's possible the answer will be "no," but you can prepare for that possibility. It's not wrong to ask.

I got to explain #GayPanic and #UselessLesbian to my pysch today 😂

These are terms I just learned (over the last few months myself) that described succinctly, what the heck is going on with my brain.

To unpack these terms, I'm going to start you with Sappho.
-
-
“Sweet mother, I cannot weave –
slender Aphrodite has overcome me
with longing for a girl.” –Sappho

To everyone, we've almost all been in this feeling. (i cannot speak for Ace)
Someone we see or meet, and their presence just #dazzles us into #malfunction (however brief)

-
- it's a pretty common #human #feeling. (again, cannot speak for Ace, and that's ok, y'all are lovely :) )

now here's where #GayPanic sets in... we feel the feels...omg. wow.
and our brains go into... IS THIS DANGER????

I'm sorry to say, our panic does start there.
