In an earlier thread 👇(written 6 months before #Pulwama) I tried to get into this Most Favoured Nation thingy and why India should immediately strip #Pakistan of that status - economically and geopolitically

Let's try #China now.Would it make sense to revoke China's MFN status?
For starters, India seems to enjoy being the punching bag of the world- affectionately called "becoming Vishwaguru" by many in the administration.

God alone knows why India never revoked MFN for Pakistan till Pulwama while Pakistan hasn't made India MFN SINCE DAY 1 OF WTO (1996)
India provides preferential tax treatment based on a 2003 agreement, to 217 Chinese goods (at a good 13% lesser than MFN rates given to other nations). China has similarly preferential rates for 188 items. Even before #GalwanValleyFaceOff the #ChineseVirus exposed the flaw here:

Indian army does not believe in the Gandhian principle of turning the other cheek (to the best of my knowledge). Standard operating procedure to pay adversary in kind (except India does not talk about it) No saints either at LoC or LAC in response to enemy action. #IndiaFirst
At #Doklam Indian army crossed border & confiscated Chinese road building equipment (keys, battery of dozer) to protect our Red Line. Same was done in Ladakh (incl fuel barrels of aggressors) China respects power, our Soldiers display it. Stay calm #BoycottMadeInChina #IndiaFirst
How many of us want to teach China a lesson & yet use a Chinese phone? Prefer to buy #madeinChina since it is cheaper? Ignoring the fact China may have used captive labour & unfair practices to keep prices down?Or that our traders prefer to buy Chinese to make a quick extra buck?

THREAD about some of the #economic/#technology chatter we’re hearing from the media/public/govt while the #China-#India boundary situation has been playing out 1/
For one, there are once again calls in India to boycott Chinese products (seen these before, including during Doklam) with hashtags like #boycottmadeinchina, #boycottchina and #boycottchinesegoods. Also saw these recently when COVID-related anti-China sentiment was peaking 2/
The boycott calls have been spurred to some extent by Sonam Wangchuk (inspiration for Aamir Khan’s character in 3 Idiots), who has called for a #GrabYourWallet response by Indians. Some “influencers” have since claimed they have deleted Chinese apps 3/

You saw Sonam Wangchuk urging Indians to #BoycottChineseProducts, from softwares to hardwares?
I am with him.

Here's how all Indian MOTHERS can make this happen on a large scale.

Bcoz maa ka mara thappad acche acchon ko sahi kar deta hai (China, are you listening?)
All these toys (pic in previous tweet) belong to my little boy. Some I bought, some came to him as gifts from loving uncles and aunties.
All of these are #MadeInChina.

It is astounding how the children's toy market in India is flooded with Chinese products.
All types of toys... Cars, soft toys, books, battery-operated toys, and even rubber squeeze toys that are made in China are out there in the toy shop round the corner in your area.

Some are cheap, some are expensive.
And we buy it blindly for our kids or someone else's.

Ladakh Tehsil Revenue map of 1909, Chinese official maps of 1893 show Aksai Chin as part of Ladakh. Galwan River valley, where China has transgressed LAC in maps clearly part of Ladakh. @LtGenGurmit explains how China took control of AksaiChin in 1950s & now attempts to alter LAC
China is trying to change status quo along LAC (let alone borders). China is gradually creeping forward, salami slicing territory & trying to occupy it. India (Govt, army & people) must resist it, expose China & push back for restoration. No compromise with territorial integrity.
China is no friend of India. Wuhan & Mahabalipuram notwithstanding, Chinese army deploying more than 2 brigades shows bullying tactics being adopted. If a skirmish does not suit India, it does not suit China either. India must pay back with interest elsewhere. A game two can play
