In a #Bull #Market, new stocks break out on high #Volume every day. One of the challenges of a #breakout trader is find the best #BreakoutStocks to buy because they go up so fast that often it is hard to get a low-risk entry.

Here's a thread on one way to go about doing it.
1) To find the best #breakoutstocks, one has to focus on the right sector and then monitor #stocks within that sector for #volume #breakouts. Eg. #PSU Banks did a very strong #breakout recently with most of the stocks within #NIFTYPSUBANK index giving a 50% gain in a short time!
2) First let’s see what happened in this sector in terms of the sequence of #breakouts. #NIFTYPSUBANK broke out of a sound base on 24th Oct, 22 as below. The leaders within this sector broke out even before the index broke out, e.g. INDIANBK, CANBK, UNIONBANK, BANKBARODA. Image

Many traders ask me how to trade #volume #breakout stocks profitably. Not all breakouts succeed in the #StockMarket. So, how does one get into good #breakoutstocks? Here's a thread explaining how I filter out good #stocks with reference to $RCF that I posted yesterday (up 12%).
1) Ensure that the stock is breaking out simultaneously in 2 timeframes. You choose the timeframes based on whether you are day-trading, swing trading or long-term investing. Ideally use the timeframes separated by a factor of 5 e.g. Daily and 75min is a good combo for short-term
2) Stock should have above average #volume for atleast 2 bars when the breakout is happening. Also, make sure that in the base before the breakout, majority green volume bars are above avg vol, while the red volume bars are below avg vol (avg vol is 50-SMA of volume). Image

Until the right opportunity emerges, pay special attention to capital preservation above capital appreciation. When a promising opportunity eventually presents itself, be ready to act swiftly and aggressively.
Top three priorities in trading:
1) Preservation of capital.
2) Consistency in executing your plan.
3)When you have these two things mastered, you can then pursue the third, which is superior performance.

Following are the different types of Gaps.
1⃣ Gap-up
2⃣ Gap-down
3⃣ Common gap
4⃣ Breakaway gap
5⃣ Continuation gap
6⃣ Exhaustion gap
7⃣ Island gap
1⃣ What is Gap-up?
When the opening price is above the high of the previous day, we get a gap-up.
🟢How to trade?
➡️Trade in the direction of the gap-up as long as the price remains above the opening of that day. ImageImage

1) What is #Dow Theory?

• Dow Theory is a trading approach developed by Charles Dow who is also known as the father of Technical Analysis. It is still the basis of technical analysis of financial markets.
• The basic idea of Dow Theory is that market price action reflects all available information and the market price movement is comprised of three main trends.

• Most of technical analysis theory today has an origin from ideas proposed by Dow & Edward Jones back in 19th century
Those ideas were published in the Wall Street Journal and are still assimilated by most of the technicians.

• Dow Theory still dominates the far more sophisticated and equipped modern study of technical analysis.

#Breakout Trading is our favourite form of trading as - We can capture the momentum quickly & we get a defined buying level where we can take an accurate entry. ✅

Only barrier is - Fake Breakouts.

Here is how you can avoid it maximum times 👇🏻
1. Always check for high volumes at the key zone.

Eg. If you are planning to buy at a resistance breakout, look out for high volumes whenever the price has touched that particular level earlier. ⬆

This acts as a confirmation to your setup.

Example attached 👇🏻

1/ Price was stuck in a range for a long time after a good advance. Now, when I saw the chart for the first time I thought that maybe distribution was going on, in the overall context of the trend.
But, upon closer look I found something interesting.
2/ Look at the price and volume relationship, whenever price was heading higher, volumes were mostly above average.
Now, I was beginning to think that maybe it was not a distribution phase, but re-accumulation.
