The reason you find it hard to believe is because you don’t understand the reality of Black-owned media today. First, there are VERY FEW Black-owned media who have actual reporters. That’s plural. It comes down to resources. #BlackOwnedMediaMatters 1/8
In the advertising industry, $322B is spent annually. Black-owned media gets .5% of that. That’s ALL Black-owned media. If you assess what is covered, it’s mostly sports and entertainment. And a lot of this is opinion. Not actual reporting. 2/8
The advertising industry doesn’t want to invest in Black-owned news. We are told that we aren’t “brand safe” due to the stories we cover: racism, police brutality, etc. Then there is the issue of Black folks actually supporting Black-owned media. 3/8

#BlackTwitter, why give Elon $8 a month? We have six shows on the @BlkStarNetwork. Three shows in development. We want to launch 5 more next year. I am asking for $50 a year. That’s 4.19 a month; 13 cents a day. HALF of what Elon wants! Give at RolandMartinUnfiltered.com! 1/6
Since launching four years ago, 30,000 people have joined the @BlkStarNetwork #BringTheFunk Fan Club. WE can’t keep saying we want and need Black news if WE don’t fund it! I have NO millionaires/billionaires funding me. NO Black celebs cutting big checks. But we do the work! 2/6
Don’t give Elon $8 for a blue checkmark. Send a check off to #BlackOwnedMedia! Check or money orders to: P.O. Box 57196, Washington, DC 20037-0196. @CashApp $RMUnfiltered @Venmo RMUnfiltered @Zelle roland@rolandsmartinunfiltered.com. @PayPal PayPal.me/RMartinUnfilte… 3/6 Image

Listen! I’m not wasting any time of these non-voting fools. Come on my TL with your anti-voting, anti @staceyabrams anti @SenatorWarnock vitriol, you’re blocked. No response. No warning. DONE. Now, let’s get to work. Let’s talk Georgia runoff. 1/6
The @GOP in Georgia did not want a repeat of 2020, so they changed the law. Instead of the runoff being 2 months away, it’s now one. The deadline to register for the runoff has PASSED. It was Monday. Again, by design! Now, let’s talk money. 2/6
If you want to help @SenatorWarnock @ReverendWarnock BEAT @HerschelWalker, we need a STRONG ground game. These Dem consultants are gonna dump all the money on TV. That’s an air war. We can win with a ground war. I am asking you to please send money to the following groups 3/6

These #B1 #FBA #ADOS love to call #RolandMartinUnfiltered @BlkStarNetwork a failed platform. So why keep tweeting about and posting about me? Oh, maybe because we are growing and they are mad. Boo, this is our 2021: 1/5

For the 3rd time in a week, I’ve had people get mad because I’ve not covered a story they say needs attention. NOW do y’all see why this fight for Black-owned media dollars matter? I’m ONE PERSON. I don’t have producers or reporters I can assign to spend weeks investigating. 1/8
And some of these folks demanding I do something don’t even follow me, which means they likely aren’t even members of the #RolandMartinUnfiltered @BlkStarNetwork #BringTheFunk Fan Club. REPORTING costs money. It doesn’t just happen.2/8
So when I am posting about Black-owned media fighting for advertising, I need y’all to RT, repost and share. $322 BILLION is spent annually on advertising, and we COLLECTIVELY get .5% to 1%. The reason no Black-owned media outlet doesn’t do lots of news is $$$. 3/8

Hey @charliekirk11, do you also want the history books to teach about The Great Compromise of 1877, when Republicans struck a deal to let GOP'er Hayes become president. In exchange, they pulled federal troops out of the last three southern states. That led to Jim Crow. RT this.
And guess what @charliekirk11? As a result of Republicans agreeing to that compromise, they dealt the death knell to Blacks in Congress. And Black Republicans said the @GOP sold them out for agreeing to the 1877 Compromise. Do you want THIS taught in school? I dare you to RT this
See @charliekirk11, this Black man knows how to read. So every time you present a BS view of American history, especially as it relates to Black history, I'm gonna be like Paul Harvey and tell "the rest of the story." I dare you to RT this.
