Some thoughts & takeaways from my first trip to Omaha to see the Sage of Omaha at #BRK2018

THREAD
2/13 It's a truly amazing spectacle. Buffett is treated with the reverence usually reserved for pop stars in today's world.
3/13 My take is that most people just come for the hype (and the sales); few seem to be value investors; or even truly interested in investing, other than, perhaps, the wealth that it can create. (Incidentally, the range of biz's that BRK owns and are on display is staggering).

Richard Whitt: There was no plan of what Markel would look like today 28 years later. There have been the culture and principles of the Markel Style. #MKL2018 #BRK2018
This is very similar to how Buffett answers questions about his success. #MKL2018 #BRK2018
And is similar to an insight from the tour at @OWHnews. The newsprint business has been around a long time and all the tech and knowledge that goes into production of newspapers today has developed incrementally over the history of the industry. #MKL2018 #BRK2018

πŸ’ͺA thread on amazing Twitter threads πŸ˜πŸ‘‡
In the process of revamping my #Twitter profile (dormant earlier), I have come to appreciate the wonderful underutilized platform it is!
Some threads contain crisp knowledge capsules that can help many. Starting 1 on such curated content
1. I largely rely on this: threadreaderapp.com to find content
2. What I wish to share is what coincides largely with my interests- #Learning, #Investing, #Behavioralpsychology (#mentalmodels, #bias, etc), #Businessbooks, Industry insights/case studies, Life experiences, etc
3/n
While it will be difficult to structure the order of content here, I will try to block threads by category (as noted above & more). Feel free to comment with any good thread that you would have come across. Cumulative learning always helps.
