Tonight's @CBSDSchools board mtg promises to be lively. The #BucksCounty district can't stay out of the news: Forced a librarian to remove an Elie Wiesel quote, outsourced policy to a law firm affiliated w/a Christian hate group & accusations of anti-LGBTQ policy. Public comment:
Local @CBSDSchools parent Jerel Wohl speaking about the Elie Wiesel quote controversy says "it makes me think there is a darkness in central bucks ... that something is going wrong here" largely in part because of the right-wing school board's arrogance and ideological blindness.
Retired @CBSDSchools teacher says the LGBTQ community needs to see themselves in books. The school board denying these students this is encouraging them to feel fear and shame. Eviscerates the board for hiring a PR firm to launder their reputation & a PA Family Council Law firm.

I could start with #BucksCounty but I thought it'd be more interesting to look at the SEPA region of Philly, Bucks, Chester, MontCo and DelCo. Like most of the state, Dems have seen the biggest increases after Dobbs overall. 2/16
The main formula I use is NewDems - NewGOP (DvR), if the number is negative then more Republicans were added. I like my color bars to divide at 0, so I like to make the maximum value the absolute value of our minimum. 3/16

It's Primary Day in PA! There were about 8.75 registered voters across the commonwealth as of May 17's Department of State voter export. While we probably won't see the kind of turnout we did in Nov., I think it's going to be an interesting day for voter turnout 1/?
Let me explain why before I head out to the polls in #BucksCounty. Southeastern PA and Allegheny County have some of the highest total registered voters. Now, PA does have a closed primary system, but we have some pretty important ballot questions that are open to all voters 2/

Noting here that the first 4 candidates (listed alphabetically) are also all endorsed by extremist right #KKISpac, and all only filed on the Republican slate for #Pennridge school board.

1/ A new coronavirus alert app from @PAHealthDept was the focus of today's press conference - you can read about that here - bit.ly/2Ee6zga - but lets go over some of the new case numbers and see what the past couple weeks has looked like in PA and in #BucksCounty
Let's start with the broad overview: 7-day and 14-day average new cases are currently holding fairly steady at about 770 cases as of Monday. That's roughly the same levels the state saw in late May, when new cases were declining after an initial boom
Looking at August alone, it looks like the 7-day average was valleys and peaks in the first two weeks before almost intersecting with the 14-day average that had a much steadier decline over the past two weeks.
