When will we admit that “clash of civilizations” of Islamophobia narrative is not only false but dangerous. “War on Terror”=waging war vs Muslims but #J6 & #BuffaloMassacre reveal terror is not one religion. When Muslims are “legit” targets…that supremacist hate spreads further. ImageImageImageImage
Who was it “okay” to torture? (assumed is a terrorist?) Whose civil liberties disappeared 20 years ago? Muslims.

“But you all ‘deserve’ it” we’ve heard &: Why didn’t you stop terrorism? Why haven’t you apologized about x & y?

Now: consequences of that

The “Great Replacement” is an extension of “Clash of Civilizations” that conflict/war is “inevitable” between “different” humans defined by race or religion. It dehumanizes some humans as “less than” or “threat.” Once you label as such, violence follows. vox.com/science-and-he…

Opinion: Tired of prayers and moments of silence

Violence in America is nothing new... in the last decade or so it’s risen to a level rarely witnessed since Jim Crow and the Klan. concordmonitor.com/My-Turn-Tired-…
Milton wrote in Paradise Lost:

“First Moloch, horrid king besmear’d with blood

Of human sacrifice, and parents teares,

Though, for the noise of drums & timbrells loud

Thir childrens cries unheard, that past through fire

To his grim Idol.”
"The violent horrors visited upon America, upon mothers and children, tears unseen, cries unheard, cannot simply be blamed on isolated “unhinged” people."

My heart is still raw from the #BuffaloMassacre and I haven't fully grieved. I can't even remember the so-called "details"** of the "other" shooting(s?) from that same time period.

And here we are again.

**Based SOLELY on media coverage & NOT to make light of the lost lives.🧵
So what happens next? Do we run the playbook that is all too familiar?

Do we show a few images of the lost? Do we discuss the so-called "normal" background of the murderer? Do we allow so-called leaders dictate that it's too SOON to discuss anything? 2/
Perhaps NBC's Ben Collins can discuss the dental history of this one. Maybe Gov. Abbott can create a scenario where an army placed at each elementary school will make it all better. Or we can knock around some hallow statistics about mental health that no one wants to fund. 3/

A note on replacement theory (RT) since #BuffaloMassacre. RT has come to be used by its critics for a broad array of issues across legal and policy disagreements. We should stop. We risk diluting RT's violent underpinnings and help its proponents wiggle out of consequences. 1/
As I've noted many times before, RT is about eliminating the "other" in a world where opportunity is limited: us or them, me or you. #stochasticterrorism is the means. When political and media leaders promote RT, they promote random violence but maintain plausible deniability. 2/
You see that now; they too are diluting RT, claiming it is merely a reflection of accurate demographic shifts in this country. Those shifts are real, but they of course don't call it a demographic issue. They call it RT for a reason; RT justifies violence. It is unique, evil. 3/

🚫No, #Conservatism does NOT equal #WhiteSupremacy 🚫 And here’s proof…

Over the last few days, the #MSM has been conflating conservatives and white supremacists as if they are one in the same. This thread will detail WHY and HOW that is simply untrue…

Since the #BuffaloMassacre major media outlets and certain journalist have been tirelessly attempting to tie words from the killer back to those of @TuckerCarlson 📢

The problem is these reports deliberately take words out of context, while ADDING context to imply racism…

2/
First, a defense is only necessary following an attack 💥 Not-so-clever leftists tend to forget they are the ones fledging the assault

Next, quoting @TuckerCarlson’s words, the author attempts to ADD context, turning reference to political-affiliation in a racial attack…

Thread folks.
Good morning @Ask_Spectrum @comcast @ATT @Sling @YouTubeTV @DIRECTV @dish
I am speaking for 2/3 of America. Make FOX news a stand alone product or get rid of it! The hate spew daily that is sent out is directly responsible for #BuffaloMassacre /1
@Ask_Spectrum @comcast @ATT @Sling @YouTubeTV @DIRECTV @dish We should not be ask to subsidize hate! By making it a part of a package you are forcing us to do just that. It is the subscription fees that have kept their hate alive. Here are a few examples that should make it loud and clear allowing their spew on airwaves is dangerous! /2

I'm not going to lie-- I've barely read up on the #BuffaloMassacre. Not because I don't care, but because I'm so tired of having to fight with people about the existence of white supremacy and hate. I'm so irritated and exhausted with folks who try to explain it away. 1/5
I don't have to read up on it, to know that someone (probably a white man) went out of their way, to target a space in a Black community to purposefully end Black people's lives. I'm sure their were signs that it coming, I bet he had some sort of manifesto. 2/5
I'm sure that friends and relatives of this man are shocked, but then also list off the ways that they knew of his hate and his intentions. I am certain that he WAS TAKEN INTO CUSTODY ALIVE, even tho he was actively shooting in a public place. 3/5

Horrific. A gunman wearing military-style clothing and body armor kills at least 10 people at a supermarket in #Buffalo, #NewYork#racism, misogyny, lax regulations and #gunviolence are interlinked. US policymakers are equally responsible! #endgunviolence apnews.com/article/buffal…
I live in upstate NY and visit the local #Topssupermarket — I have seen young men dressed as military personnel. The #Buffalo #shooting is just a chilling reminder that U.S. civilians own 400 million #guns —almost half of civilian held firearms globally.
120+ guns/ 100 residents
In 2015 @MotherJones published a special investigation detailing the cost of #gunviolence:$229 billion a year (2012 data). $8.6 billion in direct spending—emergency/medical care & $221 billion in “indirect” costs, quality of life of victims.
