So here is a thread on testing the new #bulletproofprospect process for wide receivers.

I took the exact same procedure and applied it as though it was 2011 and then tested it on the classes from 2012-2017 to see how it worked.

Lets dive in.
First off, here were the players it identified as bulletproof+ from 2003-2011. Please remember I only use the bulletproof process on players drafted rounds 1-3.

12/18 hit = 67%
I guess I should mention how the tiers work.

Transcendent > Generational > Bulletproof > Cornerstone > Maybe > Bust.

The tier names are NOT to be taken literally. They are just fun, so relax.

It feels like every year we are inundated with "once a player plays in the NFL his college profile no longer matters"

Lets take a quick look at rookie year efficiency over the past couple years and see if the prospect profile mattered

We will use Yards per pass route

First up is 2017 because that is when Playerprofiler started tracking it. (if you know if a site that goes further back I'd love to dig into it so let me know!)

Lets start with the big dogs. All of Godwin, Juju, and Kupp displayed terrific rookie efficiency by exceeding 2.00 Image
All 3 guys were drafted on day 2.

All 3 guys were productive in college.

All 3 guys have gone on to be productive fantasy players.

Good players that succeed early are the players you should be chasing. Image

Lets talk Scarry Terry McLaurin.

We'll go through what his college profle would have looked like through the #bulletproofprospect lens

Then discuss his rookie year and what I am doing with him.

Then you can obviously do whatever the heck you want with him. It's YOUR team Image
Terry checked the easy box. Size.

6'0 208 pounds is big enough to play all of the WR roles.
As for athleticism, Terry ran real fast.

Like REALLY fast.

4.35 is crazy fast. Like 98th percentile fast.

He also was pretty terrific across the board in his athletic testing with only his agility being mediocre.

Here are some size/speed comps for him (first 3 rounds) Image
