@SenateCA @BillBlair @RalphGoodale Conservative Sen. @DonPlett, with some support from some independent senators, rewrote major parts of bill at committee. Those changes were dropped at 3rd reading after opposition from some in @ISGSenate and @SenHarder. Critics say the bill will do little to address gun violence
Among other things, C-71 enhances background checks, implements mandatory record-keeping for retailers, changes the authorization to transport (ATT) rules, and changes the classification for most models of the Ceska zbrojovka CZ-858 rifle and certain Swiss Arms firearms
