First read: this "starting point" map for the CA commission is decent for Rs. It eliminates a Dem seat in LA County (as expected) and imperils Harder (D) in #CA10, while leaving all incumbent 11 Rs w/ a path to victory (though Nunes & esp. Issa would face much tougher races).
Now that Kern and Ventura Counties have posted their full results, some quick takeaways from California's House races.

Interestingly, the conservative Ventura County portion of #CA25, which houses the Reagan Library, voted 49.4% /44.44% for Trump over Clinton in 2016, but narrowly went 48.93%/48.86% to Biden by 51 votes this year, while Mike Garcia carried it 54.23%/45.77%.

As climate change progresses, we see the continued stress on trees & a proliferation of pine beetles, resulting in sudden death of trees. I don’t live next to nat’l or state forest. All around me are privately owned lots. I’m on an acre, so are my neighbors on each side. #CA01
The guy behind us is on 5 acres. It’s thickly wooded. My next door neighbor on 1 acre had about 3 or 4 (maybe more) trees suddenly die. She cut them down. Over 6 years, we’ve cut down 7. There are dead trees across fwy from me. I’ll bet there are some on the 5 acres behind me.
I drive a couple of miles to local grocery store, passing homes of various lot sizes. Wooded. Dead trees here & there. Not cut down yet. It’s expensive! Really expensive! We’ve spent about $4k removing trees. My lot is sparsely treed. Others are pretty thick. #CA01

When I took a leave of absence from my job as an educator to run for Congress in #CA01 & campaign full-time, my employer convinced me to continue health insurance via COBRA. I’m grateful they did. No one should go bankrupt because of health issues. bit.ly/2NgG3CH (3/8)
