šŸ§µ This week is Haemochromatosis Awareness Week, and Iā€™d like to tell you a bit about this surprisingly common genetic condition and why we should be aware of it. First, please watch this quick film (It has me being messy with my blood!)/1
@IronOverloadUK
Genetic Haemochromatosis, commonly known as ā€˜Iron Overloadā€™, is a condition where the body retains too much Iron. This can produce varied symptoms and lead to serious problems. So itā€™s important to catch it early. /2
My other half Heidi, who writes #CallTheMidwife, had a relative affected by it. In series 9, she featured the story of Florrie ā€“ a mum who displays strange symptoms of liver disease. Dr Turner eventually diagnoses Haemochromatosis. /3 radiotimes.com/tv/drama/haemoā€¦

I lost count of the number of times that numerous students were ā€œcoincidentallyā€ present when I needed an intimate exam. (3/15)

Hi tweeps! Remember back in March, I made a mega-thread of amazing #WomenInSTEM that you should follow, especially for #IWD2018? If not, here's the 'moment' I made from it twitter.com/i/moments/9718ā€¦
Well, today (19 Nov) is #InternationalMensDay #IMD2018, and I wanted to mark the occasion. So here are SIXTY men working in STEM who also happen to be some of my favourite tweeps. This is by no means an exhaustive list - please don't be offended if you're not on it!
PS: I have some actual (paid) work to do today, so I'll update the list when I can, in between all my other commitments. Please be patient šŸ˜Š
