1/There were 138 residential “schools” in Canada. I am wondering what we could call them instead of schools. Graveyards are not incorporated into the architectural plans for new schools as these were. Maybe child labour camps. They were everywhere

2/By my count, 1,142 children’s remains have been found in unmarked graves at the sites of former residential schools in Canada so far:

Open letter to @UBC in the following tweets regard the degree awarded to Father O'Grady
/1 As an Trondek Huch'in member of UBC convocation (BA class of 2008)and Lawyer I am deeply ashamed to discover that UBC awarded an Honourary Degree to Father O'Grady who was principal of the Kamloops Residential School the site of the rediscovery of child mass graves.
UBC must acting immediately to revoke this award and recognizes it was a mistake to have done so . It must also ask for forgiveness for this error.
