Lovely evening at @LeicsComedyFest @lcbdepot with trial of live captions. Downloaded their app and started listening. The app wasn’t quite the thing. We fired up Google Meet ( on one phone) and it was markedly better. But not ideal. So next week we will try a two phone set up.
#live high quality #captions are the goal. We’re not quite there yet. Aiming for reliable quality and so far as we can tell Google has the most reliable captioning. But that could change overnight as others improve. Some apps put high quality transcriptions behind a paywall.
Putting the quality aspect (fidelity you might say) behind a paywall is not the best look. So next week I’ll return to @LeicsComedyFest with renewed expectations. It’s the only way I’ll ever be able to participate in a stand-up audience. @RNID @ActionDeafness
