Many don't realize how much we lose due to the insidiousness of car culture. Here's a thread to remind them. Feel free to retweet and add yours too. I'll start. If you've ever said, my kids can't walk to school because they have to cross a busy road, it's due to car culture.
If you have ever had a panic attack because your young child was running toward a road and you're scared they'll get hit, it's due to car culture.
If you've ever asked someone on a #Bicycle "isn't it dangerous to ride a #bike around here?" yes, that's also due to car culture.

Like it or not, women are still society's primary care givers. Which means that streets which aren't safe for children to move around on are streets where women are stripped of their transport choice.

Women have a tendency to engage in fewer risky behaviours. If riding a bicycle across the city is seen as dangerous, it's exclusionary towards women. Infrastructure must be perceived to be safe for ALL users. 3/7
