Krishnarajasagara dam water levels in 3D (exaggerated relief)

Reservoir was full till Nov-19 due to 2019 floods. After that, water level has fallen n currently has 33% of it's live capacity but it's still 2x more than last year summer!

Do refer to this thread on how Chaitra irrigation is #polluting the water and has made the life of residents of Devarakaggalahalli miserable and sickly. Please note the owners of Chaitra irrigations are the ones who operate HW landfill called Mother Earth(sic) in Harohalli !

Mother Earth has MANY violations as pointed out in the emails by us to concerned authorities! Since the beginning of this unit, it has been a disaster! Despite an FIR, a closure order due to violations of consent conditions,they run their business like there is no Law and Order!

Now in #Covid_19 #lockdown,they are bringing in tankers of effluents at night and filling it up in lagoons as can be seen in the picture attached.Last year, it is precisely these activities that contaminated the surface waters and killed the cows, fish and birds & we got to know.

ஊரடங்கை ஒரு பக்கம் அறிவித்துவிட்டு, மறுபக்கம் மக்களைப் போராட்டக் களத்திற்குத் தூண்டும் செயல் புத்திசாலித்தனமானது தானா? மாநில உரிமைகள் ஒவ்வொன்றையும் கபளீகரம் செய்வதுதான் மத்திய பிஜேபி ஆட்சியில் திடமான திட்டமா? அதற்கும் கூட நேரம் காலம் பாராத கண்மூடித்தனமா?

தமிழ்நாட்டைத் தொடர்ந்து வஞ்சிக்கும் இப்போக்கை வன்மையாகக் கண்டிக்கிறோம். மத்திய அரசு இந்த முடிவை உடனடியாகக் கைவிட வேண்டும். இல்லையேல் அனைத்துக் கட்சிகளையும் கலந்து கொண்டு உரிய நடவடிக்கைகள் மேற்கொள்ளப்படும் என்றும் உறுதியாக தெரிவித்துக் கொள்கிறோம். #Cauvery

Massive rains needed in catchments to overcome deficit. If it fails, #Karnataka n #TamilNadu need to be prepared for massive drought

It's unfortunate about some of the comments here talk about the comparison with 2018 n leaving the focus on the issue in hand.

The total storage in the Karnataka dams is the 2nd lowest in the last 9 years. Please note that demand has increased in the same time period!
