A quick lesson on how Ireland works, and how RTE is not an "impartial public broadcaster"

On the Claire Byrne Show last night, property developer Michael O Flynn was asked to give his "impartial opinion on SF housing.

He claimed that "the State cannot provide

cheaper housing, and that supply is the problem", claiming SF are stopping supply of housing.

Claire however never mentioned that Michael O Flynn was one of five property developers, who took the Government, via NAMA to European Court in 2015, to stop NAMA using its assets
to develop affordable housing.

"Their initial complaint about Nama was lodged with the European Commission in December 2015, following a decision by the Government to extend Nama’s remit into residential property development as a means of tackling the housing crisis."

1) In my career, I have witnessed the impact of coercive control/safeguarding concerns when people are terminally ill. What does that look like? The 'controller' prevents access to medical appointments & to pain relief, in an attempt to hasten illness & death. #CBlive
2)Tremendous pressure is placed on the person to change their will or use their assets to benefit others. People are threatened they will be left in a care setting. People are made to feel intensely guilty about their care needs & the 'burden' they create. #CBlive
3) Use of coercive control is common in Ireland. 1 in 4 women who have been in a relationship report experiences of domestic violence - coercive control is not a even a crime outside intimate relationships. #CBlive

The irish government are systematically destroying 🇮🇪.
1. Treatments; you have provided no access or encouraged any treatments regarding #COVID19ireland. In fact you've ignored International regarding studies on several options.
2. Carehomes and Hospitals; You failed to protect the old and vulnerable. Most carehomes were abandoned. The majority of people whom died of #COVID19 caught it in a carehome or hospital! Think about that.
3. SME's and hospitality; government has targeted these business and used them consistently as scapegoats time and time again. The data showed these businesses were not either cause or high risk, but #msm portrayed them as such. The owners and families abandoned!

On January 18, Wuhan held a mass banquet involving 40,000 families. There were still only 204 cases in China at the time. This was the spur for a massive spread of #covid19. This is why Ireland should be closing pubs for at least three days around St Patrick’s Day. #cblive
Five days later Wuhan was under lockdown; over a dozen other Chinese cities would follow. On January 22, China had only 17 deaths, all in Hubei province. Europe now has 510. People are still talking about scaremongering. Europe has the potential to be far worse than China.
Italy and Hubei province have basically the same population. The former’s death toll is now 23 times Hubei’s when Wuhan went into lockdown. Europe needs to start taking serious measures – grounding flights, cancelling large events – for a few weeks to slow the spread of #covid19

54/ 62 killed in Gaza were terrorists. This was stated by Hamas themselves. At least have the decency to state the facts regarding the Gaza riots where thousands massed intent on breaking the border and murdering Jews.
#CBLive @ClaireByrneLive since you hadn’t done your own research on Gaza, which BTW is completely run & ruled by Hamas (Israel left in 2005 lock stock & barrel) I’d supply you with some myself. 1. Here are facts regarding deaths in ME 2017
Another fact. There are two countries that border Gaza. One of them is Egypt who keep their border closed for majority of the year & have a dividing border wall. They have destroyed many tunnels. They too dislike Hamas for good reason. Egypt/Gaza wall 👇🏻

THREAD on #CBLive and #8Ref debate claims - research by @TJ_FactCheck and @TheJournal_ie
We’re going to run through as much in the order as they came up last night as possible:
MEDICAL PROFESSION AND 8REF: Iona Institute’s Maria Steen and Dr Peter Boylan differed on where medical professionals stand - Steen said the “medical profession is divided down the middle”; Boylan said more than 80% of Institute of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists favour repeal..
Only one traditional representative body for medical professionals has articulated a position on support or retain - that is the Institute of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists where it said in January that it supports removal of the Eighth Amendment..

*Thread* Some thoughts following the #CBLive debate last night.

1. Twice a group of Irish people representing Ireland as a whole (Citizens Assembly / Oireachtas Committee) have been brought through the nuance, difficulties and reality of the 8th amendment.
They came out believing in a Yes vote. This referendum is the third and most important group, but last night's debate was far from the calm & reasoned debate undecided people deserved and needed to make up their mind the same way the citizens assembly and Oireachtas committee did
2. The cheering and clapping for point-scoring was in poor taste given the amount of people in the audience and watching who had lived experience of terminations. My heart goes out to them on what must have been a deeply upsetting thing to witness.
