Legend has this linga, along with those of the other 3 Amnaya Peethams aswell, was handed over by #Shankaracharya to his 4 disciples, he himself received the 4 lingas from Shiva. Since then, the Lingas have been propitiated by the various Acharyas who have adorned the Peethams.
My apologies 🙏🙏 this is not in Sringeri but in Sri RamachandraPura Matha, Gokarna, Karnataka. And Shankaracharya is performing Abhishekam.
