On Tuesday we learned of the death of an 8th British man in the war in #Ukraine
He's now been named as 45 year old Jonathan Shenkin, born in Glasgow but living in London. Mr Shenkin enlisted for the Ukrainian army & worked as a paramedic.
His family describe him as a hero.

I've traced the original to vanek_nikolaev's TG channel and now had it confirmed #Chaplynka was hit again, so this is likely genuine, multiple explosions in #Kherson region, just 16km from #Crimea

Last night rumours swept #Ukraine that the army had liberated multiple settlements on the south/east bank in #Kherson, fanned by Govt officials commenting on #Oleshky.
But so far they remain just rumours with no hard evidence.

the #UK's Defence Minister @BWallaceMP has a message for #Russia and its people after yesterday's liberation of #Kherson and the whole region east of the River Dnipro.
🧵 update on the quest of finding 🇷🇺 supply locations. Acting on a hunch of @defmon3 about the supply routes to #Chaplynka airport. We discovered a possible location @ Myrne, Kherson. The location makes sense the railway line from Crimea to Kherson runs thru town.

And there are large warehouse complexes located right next to the train station, which we know the 🇷🇺 love to use (like @ Brylivka). Another + is that it is located out of HIMARS range and it is located only 12 km. from Chaplynka airbase (🇷🇺 forward heli base more in another 🧵)
After obtaining the sat. images (with your support) and surveying the area,we found out that 🇷🇺 were indeed using this town for re-supply.They were not using loc. near the station,but a complex outside of town. This is located right along the railway line just outside of town.

#Ukraine's South Division stated in its morning update the bridge near the Kakhovka Hydroelectric plant was the latest hit.
Some locals report this bridge is still being used but it's probably not safe for heavy vehicles.

Yesterday some interesting footage from #Kherson region appeared on telegram showing 🇷🇺 BM-27 #Urugan launchers on the road with the comment that fields were burning around #Chaplynka due to the launches. I decided to investigate here is my little 🧵

On the photo's there are powerlines visible which i was able to locate to being on the road out of #Chaplynka toward #NovaKakhovka. Also a blue sign can be sign which suggests that it just outside of town. When we look at the #FIRMS data however we do not see fires in this area.
When we look at #Sentinel images for 18-7 however we can see a burnt piece of land just NW of this road near the town of #Preobrazhenka. When we go back one day however this piece of land hasn't burned yet. This makes it a likely launching site according to satellite date.
