3/ @UN_Disarmament @INakamitsu in video message pointed to significant difficulties in holding accountable perpetrators of #chemicalweapons use and said that "this is not a situation the international community should allow to persist".
Today, on 25th anniversary of @OPCW we are happy to launch CBWNet, a project by @IFSHHamburg @HSKF_PRIF @jlugiessen ZNF @UniHH, funded by @BMBF_Bund. Over next 4 years we will be working together to strengthen norms against #chemicalweapons and #biologicalweapons.

@INakamitsu @OPCW In her message, the High Representative underscored that #ChemicalWeapons use in Syria, Malaysia, Iraq, the UK and Russia had threatened the norms embedded in the Chemical Weapons Convention (CWC) and profoundly damaged the disarmament and non-proliferation efforts.
@INakamitsu @OPCW She also highlighted that the UN Secretary-General @antonioguterres had repeatedly stressed that the use of chemical weapons anywhere by anyone and under any circumstances would be unacceptable and had urged the international community to act.
