This is why I do long threads on racism in child & education spaces (child education up to #MedEd) and on the role of women to “protect” only some kids, not others. There is focus on police without looking at the full picture of sources of harm to children of color.
It is very very easy to focus on the Boston police Union leader

but who is it that..

helps him get access to children?
stays silent?
silences abused children?
promotes him?
seeks to please him (be promoted by him)?
sees him as a “good leader”?
softens his image?
protects him?
The role of men & women who police/silence those who would speak up... who prevent identifying the abuser

=extremely important

it is all on one spectrum: if you experience being denied food by a teacher as a 3-year old, will you speak up on abuse...

vs Stockholm Syndrome?

Why is someone who likely does not menstruate a sudden expert on #womenshealth to identify a WOC seeking #data #quality & #integrity as the threat...to women?
"Respecting" social science = using respectable methods, not online surveys.
What you see in the tweet and the "study" is ego, defensiveness & flagrant Dunning-Kruger effect for #womenshealth, #menstrualhealth, #COVID19, #vaccine #research.

The best way to demonstrate the value of a field is to be consistent on #quality not

sciencedirect.com/science/articl…
Academic language on #online #survey #data:
"systematically assess carelessness in a crowdsourced sample" Denial that quick & dirty is poor #quality is an odd use of time & ineffective. One could better defend one's merit, by delivering #quality per best practices and standards.

A brincadeira ajuda no desenvolvimento cognitivo, social, emocional e motor.
Uma criança que é livre para brincar cresce com auto estima e se torna uma pessoa adulta mais confiante e criativa para lidar com os próprios problemas. Tem mais chances também de criar uma consciência mais crítica sobre o entorno e a se colocar no lugar do

(1/9) I was unable to share my thoughts on #HLMUHC #UNGA on day of, but will do so with tweetorial below & my @nytimes commentary "Reversal in Health Coverage": nytimes.com/2019/09/24/opi…

I also want to thank everyone for warm words of support: my mother is doing better day by day.
(2/9) It’s been a landmark event as #HLMUHC moved mountains with political attention for #Health4All #UHC and the adoption of the Political Declaration. As per my op-ed for @ghn_news, reduced financial commitment but inclusion of #SurgeryUHC now apparent:

(3/9) Major congratulations for the important #ChildHealth event by @Smiletrain et al.: “quality surgical care is a driver & outcome of development” #SurgeryUHC

@VanTaylorTX @TexasGOP @GregAbbott_TX @candynoble @MattShaheen @Susan_Fletcher @leachfortexas @CollinCtyVotes @CollinGOP @Scott_SanfordTX Let's see, Van ... We're presently #5 in teen birth rate (per @HHSGov), & the state ed #abstinenceonly policy seems tailor-made to make us #1 there. In fact, the stats say almost one-in-five of US births to girls <15 were right here in Texas. #winning 1/
@VanTaylorTX @TexasGOP @GregAbbott_TX @candynoble @MattShaheen @Susan_Fletcher @leachfortexas @CollinCtyVotes @CollinGOP @Scott_SanfordTX @HHSGov In your quest for first, Van, you'll be glad to know we're #1 already for #uninsured people AND #1 when it comes to least #HealthcareAccess (incl. DC!). We do have a little ways to go on cost; we're only 6th #mostexpensive. Keep denying that expansion! 2/

Texas is almost there! According to the Annie E. Casey Foundation #KidsCount assessment, we're the 3rd-worst for family and community (#47/50) & 9th-worst for #childhealth. Isn't that exciting? /3

Even as HIV/AIDS-related deaths have reached lowest level of this century, new @UNAIDS report unaids.org/sites/default/… notes that we're NOT on track to reach 2020 global goals for reducing #HIV deaths.
We believe reductions in mortality cannot be taken for granted with treatment scale-up. Deaths must be tracked at the subnational, and program-level in order to ensure program performance. This is especially impt as we implement @WHO advanced HIV care guidelines and #diff care
To do this, we must step up efforts to trace lost patients and document true outcomes, including causes of death, and track new indicators for death. Investments in #CRVS (Civil registration and vital statistics) and networked information systems are also on the critical path
