“Taking Back Control!”
So what was that all about?
A few tycoons and Old Etonians getting more control over the rest of us?
Hedge funders escaping higher EU taxes?
Foreign corporations given the freedom to asset-strip the UK?

Let’s take a look.

Now the UK is flying solo, its companies have low valuations, becoming rich pickings for foreign owned vulture funds.
“For the average firm, Brexit is associated with a value loss of 16.4 per cent against a hypothetical no-Brexit scenario.”

UK companies are weighed down by additional red-tape which makes it difficult to compete unless they move to an EU base.

🇬🇧🚜Today is a crucial day for the future of food & farming in the UK

Amongst other things, Govt. decisions today will affect the

🐔quality of food we import
🚜way our food is produced

We need your help to raise awareness of some amendments which must be made to the #AgriBill
✊🚜💚🌍 There has never been a more joined-up coalition of farming & environmental organisations all calling for the same thing

Despite this, the Govt. has continuously failed to protect British food & farming standards in the #AgriBill / #TradeBills ow.ly/gYqs50ArABf
The implications for farmers?

"As a farmer, it could mean my production is undermined by cheap imports from countries with lower standards than in the UK. For society, it could mean we won't have the ability to buy food from local & sustainable supply chains"@hayneoak #AgriBill

💦🐔#ChlorinatedChicken... a thread

💦🥗 "We wash salad in chlorine so what's the problem?"

The problem is that 🇺🇸🐔 is washed in chlorine to treat high levels of bacteria, a symptom of poor hygiene & low animal welfare conditions ow.ly/6BQk50A3Jld independent.co.uk/life-style/foo…
Rather than chlorine washing, UK farms use a “farm to fork” approach

This requires high hygiene & animal welfare standards all along the production chain ensuring food sold to consumers is safe

These standards mean chlorine washes aren't needed ow.ly/6BQk50A3Jld
🇬🇧🐔 Accepting #ChlorinatedChicken would condone US standards & also pressure UK farmers to lower their prices to compete against cheap, low-quality products

The average price of a whole chicken is £2.70/kg

🤔 Do we need to drive this down further? ow.ly/6BQk50A3Jld
