NINE charges for corrupt business influence, fraud where the loss is between $750-$50k, and theft

The belief that there is some conspiracy afoot connecting educators demanding better working conditions with the @massteacher's political aims is a gross misunderstanding of what is *actually* happening in schools.
Educators do not need to be "encouraged" by the MTA to demand better of the district for themselves. The truth is that this reckoning has been marinating for decades & the pandemic pushed all the inequities, struggles, and abuse out there for all to see.
Educators are fighting for themselves, yes. As a predominantly female driven workforce, educators have made do with less and less and less. We have been patient, creative, and flexible to a fault.

It’s common knowledge that people are capable of some frankly breathtaking levels of cruelty. I’ve known that for a while now, but I’ve never known exactly what that meant until recently.
This is the personal cost of a culture war that weaponizes ignorance, that willfully (or worse) mistakes it for righteousness. As a quasi-90s kid, I’m compelled to ask, “WWJD?”

This is very hard for us to write. But we feel we have no other choice due to us seeing the massive amount of requests that we are getting daily for both Humans and Pets.
Here is what has happened as of late:
This is very hard for us to write. But we feel we have no other choice due to us seeing the massive amount of requests that we are getting daily for both Humans and Pets.
Here is what has happened as of late:
This past weekend alone, we had over 30 emergency requests from individuals & families fleeing domestic violence. Many leaving with nothing but the clothes on their backs.
We were able to help about 17 of these individuals find shelter and lodging via referrals to other groups.

The other 13 individuals are being helped by our awesome volunteers. We are tracking down emergency funding and helping them apply for help through various organizations here in #Calgary.
We will be assisting them and their families in hopes of helping them feel safe once again.

I have been sending home a packet for every single school day with an art project, some hands-on activities, handwriting-some silliness. My cat makes frequent guest teacher appearances. He also helps with the Ms and Ws in handwriting. #cat

I've had to stop using two different pairs of scissors because of blisters. This new pair I am using upside down-the only way I can cut without it hurting!
My mom sewed beanbags for all my students-the delivery box will now be a game/toy box.

To do all this I have begged ( @DonorsChoose Just Funded!) and #ClearTheList -ed, and through generosity I have paper and supplies for all my kids.
That might look like a pipe cleaner around a pencil, but it is actually a coil-and we discuss how that all works.

Um...probably TMI, but, when my old district fired me (for two weeks) they took all of my classrooms items out of my room (fishtank, plants, photos of my cats) and put free signs on them. I lost EVERYTHING. $17,000-almost all of my prize money had been spent on the room. (more)
Everything I had ever created was in my files. My lifetime of work. I had put some online-Maybe 2-3% of what I had I had created was saved-The rest was thrown away-along with my books-the art supplies. My classroom wasn't in a school-my stuff didn't even go to teachers. (more)
And I try to forget it, but every time, over the last five years as I did long term sub jobs with ZERO budgets, I wanted to make a lesson but couldn't because all my die cuts, paper, sizzix machine, wavy scissors, toys, my WHOLE light room of specialty lights...gone. (more)
