Swiss #multinationals are responsible for at least 2-3% of global greenhouse gas emissions, if indirect emissions are taken into account. These numbers are similar to Brasil, Japan or Indonesia, despite Switzerland’s comparatively small population and size. 🧵
According to a @McKinsey study, greenhouse gas emissions directly controlled by multinational enterprises in🇨🇭are 7 to 10 times higher than the country’s domestic emissions. And that’s without including the emissions along these enterprises’ value chain. Here’s how 👇

Starting July 1, Austrians will pay a new #carbontax of 30 euros (approximately $33) per ton of CO2 — a cost that’s likely to be added to consumer bills by companies. That amounts to 55 euros ($60) per ton in 2025. 2/6.

The first step to sanity and impact? Realize the prismatic #climatecrisis has many facets. Cutting vulnerability? Huge. Cutting emissions? Huge. Pick one.⤵️
2. I guarantee there is one issue or problem at the interface between climate and society that suits your passions and skills best. Energy innovation? Vulnerability reduction? Community building? Political engagement? Global? Local? Glocal? All are needed. Choose your sweet spot.
