#Cobicistat, un farmaco utilizzato nel trattamento contro HIV, potrebbe essere efficace nella lotta a Sars-Cov-2. Questo è il risultato di uno studio (specifico che è uno studio in vitro e in un modello animale) pubblicato su mBio dell'American Society of Microbiology.
Come agisce Cobicistat? Blocca la fusione del virus nella cellula bersaglio, bloccando la corretta formazione della Spike. Su un modello animale di criceto, il farmaco si è dimostrato in grado di attenuare la progressione della malattia potenziando l'effetto del remdesivir.
La Spike deve essere "processata" (attivata) per poter agire come chiave. Si ha l'attivazione di due subunitá (S1 e S2) che permettono al virus di entrare all'interno della cellula. Come? La S1 contiene il Receptor Binding Domain che riconosce l'enzima di conversione dell'hACE2.

@lgbtqnation @MyFabDisease His bad reaction sounds like orthostatic hypotension. The means, when you get up, your blood pressure crashes & you collapse. It is almost always caused by drug interactions.
