Proud to announce that my first solo-authored article on ‘freely available’ #AirQuality info channels has been published in @BigDataSoc just in time for UK #CleanAirDay tomorrow! (also my 1st doctoral thesis chapter @UniofOxford @SociologyOxford @OxfordDemSci ;)

#Highlights2021 for me: our #survey on efficient processing of #sparse and compressed tensors of #ML/#DNN models on #hardware accelerators published in @ProceedingsIEEE.

RT/sharing appreciated. 🧵
Context: Tensors of ML/DNN are compressed by leveraging #sparsity, #quantization, shape reduction. We summarize several such sources of sparsity & compression (§3). Sparsity is induced in structure while pruning & it is unstructured inherently for various applications or sources. Various sources induce stru...Common structures of sparsi...
Likewise, leveraging value similarity or approximate operations could yield irregularity in processing. Also, techniques for size-reduction make tensors asymmetric-shaped. Hence, special mechanisms can be required for efficient processing of sparse and irregular computations.

We're splitting into two rooms now at #YHFSummit for concurrent sessions on: Building capacity for better services for young people.

Session 1: Engaging with young people: when is co-design real co-design: with @kellyanagram Image
Keys to co-design: prioritise relationships, share power, build capacity (not so much in young people but among professionals who are not so used to working as peers vs in hierarchies), participatory methods @kellyanagram #YHFsummit

Absurdly proud of this paper on health service #innovation. What are the factors that differentiate between good ideas that fold, and good ideas that fly?

We analysed 57 innovations from the Health Innovation Network and YES we know why!!

We did a mixed methods survey, asking dozens of innovators about their innovation project (did it work i.e. did it provide value for its intended beneficiaries, and did it scale up or spread beyond its original pilot).
2/
We then asked them to rate and comment on a set of 50+ potential success factors in 9 themes (from a systematic review plus scoping interviews) in relation to their project e.g. did the project have adequate IT resources, did the project involve service users as partners etc

My new book is out & open access.🥳

It reviews stereotypical (mis-)conceptions about old age & technology (design), and proposes a methodology for more inclusive and participatory public sector innovation: Co-creation.

Thread on chapters 👇
Introduction: There is an articulated need to engage older citizens in the design of digital services, but a lack of evidence concerning successful participation approaches. This book addresses this gap by reporting from three co-creation projects with older adults @MobileAgeEU
The 2nd chapter reviews dominant discourses about #ageing societies and technological #innovation. It argues that engaging older adults in design processes can reconfigure how and which imaginaries of old age and "successful ageing" are being scripted into technologies.

Today, I’ll be tweeting ideas & thoughts about #Integrating #ONhealth care as part of an amazing learning conversation with @wwodchis @JodemeGoldhar @Dr_KerryK @jayshaw29, @baker_ross, @Dr_SteeleGray @wwodchis & @Anne_Wojtak from @ihpmeuoft
A map of our current #ONhealth system shows various functions, structures and organizations, but without a clear shared purpose:
So then, without a clear shared purpose, how can #patients, caregivers & providers have an experience of an #integrated #ONhealth system?

Start by building up from the core of care delivery:
