Collegium is similar to a trade union gang of Judges. It does not have any constitutional mandate. Government immediately must dismantle this unlawful authority…This is a real problem for our democracy. How can Judges appoint Judges.

There has to be a better system that is democratic and accountable. Present system instead of working for the people will only work for the dynastic appointments and will be prejudicial to National interests….
Centre should come up with impeachment motion to dismiss the nuisance fellow CChud …From lowest to highest every where favouritism and sponsorship.Talent and IQ never get recognised here.

@KirenRijiju in Rajya Sabha: Main reason for pendency is appointment of judges.
The Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha had passed the #NJAC Act in 2015. 2/3rd states approved it as well.
#Parliament #ParliamentWinterSession
@KirenRijiju: The Government has taken numerous steps to tackle pendency. Without referring to those (for paucity of time), i wanna say that right now, the government has very limited power to fill vacancies...

Which law or constitution has made #Collegium a law? Its an illegal cabal without notes that makes the appointments in secret. Like a Masonic Lodge.
Basically the concept of a collegium came up in a law seminar and was thrust upon the nation by coming up with new meaning to the word 'consultation' to mean concurrence! And through a series gradually expanded.
Final version was a camel than a horse!
legalserviceindia.com/legal/article-…
Read how Justice Verma who brought forth the #Collegium system was disappointed with it. Shows it was wrong decision to alter consultation to imply concurrence. Then they piled on CJI+4 senior judges. Consultation with legal community for improvements brings in quota system!

Besides must not forget that #Judiciary a huge stumbling block in Government’s resolve to pursue reformative governance. As @vijayadar Ji pointed earlier in his thread, quite worrying to see Judiciary putting impediments in the Government’s working.

The #Judiciary too will need to ponder and work ceaselessly in delivery of justice fair and prompt. Justice should not be only done but should be “seen too” to have been done. Huge gap witnessed in that direction.
