2021 has been one crazy year for me.

Recently took a break from twitter as I needed to think & reflect in solitude.

My biggest learnings / relearnings of 2021 - A thread as random as my thoughts. :))

#Life is fragile.

We never know when it shall be our last breath. Covid just reinforced this.

Do good. Be good. Expect nothing.
Make mistakes but have no regrets.
Forgive . Make peace often .
Live life each day to the best of your abilities.

That's all that can be done!

Always ensure you have a nominee to all your investments. Don't take on unnecessary loans.

Make a WILL !

Inform your spouse / family.
Document everything correctly &
responsibly.

Else, this becomes an added pain later on for the bereaved family !

1/6 In his 1819 masterwork, The World as Will and Representation, German philosopher Arthur Schopenhauer laments: “Life swings like a pendulum backward and forward between pain and boredom.”
The pain Schopenhauer is here referring to is
2/6 that of unfulfilled desire — a longing for something we lack. According to Schopenhauer, this longing sets life’s dreary pendulum in motion. If only we could get that thing, we urge ourselves, we’d be content.

So we set about pursuing that thing and, at long last, fighting
3/6 spells of uncertainty and stress and misery— pain— we capture it. The thing is ours! But, unfortunately, the thing we set our hopes on doesn’t bring us the satisfaction we expected. In fact, it’s an utter anticlimax. This anticlimactic feeling swings the pendulum to boredom.

* #Gratitude*
I keep a "memory jar" for each year wherein I write in brief the best moments of my life & lessons learnt. Even a small event which taught me something goes in it .
I strongly believe in " No regrets, only lessons learnt ".
( That's handpainted by me! :) )

Occasionally when I have a rough day or when I am elated , I go through the chits one by one savouring the lessons learnt . It keeps me grounded. Makes me realise I am blessed to have had so many #memories & grown as a person and that life is beautiful !! 😇

Things that happen to us, just happen. It is we who perceive it to be good or bad as per our emotions at play. It is then that practising gratitude becomes of utmost importance for we need to realign our thoughts towards #positivity& #contentment & steer away from negativity.

This is a beautiful method, will be very useful for you. For example, if you are feeling very discontented, what to do?

#Patanjali says ponder on the opposite: if you are feeling #discontented, contemplate about #contentment, what is contentment. Bring a #balance.
If your mind is #angry, bring #compassion in, think about compassion; and, immediately, the energy changes. Because they are the same; the opposite is the same energy.

Once you bring it in, it absorbs. #Anger is there: contemplate on compassion
The #opposite is the pole. When you feel #hateful, think of #love. When you feel #desire, think of #desirelessness and the silence that comes in it. Whatsoever the case, bring the opposite in and watch what happens within you.
