The results are out!!

Thanks to everyone who completed this Public Opinion survey on the Impact of Covid-19 in Uganda.

Here is a summary. 👇 Let me share a ka small thread here to delve into the details and methodology. #Covid19UG
1st of all, we used a mixed methodology to collect 1,353 responses, then narrowed it down to 1,182 by removing incomplete surveys & those from outside Uganda.

This really moved on Twitter, which is not representative of Ug, so we also made calls upcountry. See our sample here.👇
We asked people about their media consumption.

72% of respondents were hearing about Covid-19 at least once every day.

The most common type of media our respondents were exposed to was TV, which corresponds to other studies (see footnotes). Keep in mind Twitter is over-sampled.

Yesterday I watched the Minister of ICT struggle to justify why the Ministry requires #4bn supplementary budget in the #COVID19UG fight.

Two things caught my attention... Social Media & Billboards

Just wondering what else do we need to add...what has not been said...
The natural response to this #COVID19UG in Uganda is simply incredible. The masses are in sync...

We have seen efforts of @bebecool @HEBobiwine @Cocacolauganda @PrudentialUG and @aptmediaug investing their resources to produce content...
The amount of airtime that #COVID19UG has on all media channels is unprecedented!!

The content that these experts will produce I can only imagine....reminds of the famous tourism campaign ;-).

I think from a media campaign...I would say...you are way behind schedule...

MY OPEN LETTER TO THE PRESIDENT OF UGANDA ON MEDIA CURFEW

I would like to use this chance to thank the government's effort in trying to control the spread of Covid-19 at a time Uganda has 45 confirmed cases, by the time of writing this. There will surely be more cases.
MY OPEN LETTER TO THGovernment has put in place many measures to flatten the Covid-19 spread, so to speak. These include the partial lockdown, including the ban on private and public transport.
These measures are in good faith and we appreciate; life first despite some of the early forgivable mistakes as admitted by Your Excellency in your last address.

Your Excellency, Ministry of Health officials, the UPDF police, and other security agencies have done a tremendous
