1/. #BREAKING #COVID NEWSFLASH: The “official scientific advisers" behind the #HerdImmunityScandal were in reality were political advisors, appointed by politicians, who's advice had little or no basis in science (e.g. “Dr” David Halpern who has a doctorate in Political Science)

3/. Every epidemiologist, virologist or public health expert will tell you that #HerdImmunity is an “outcome” NEVER a “strategy”

Without a vaccine it would involve sacrificing the vulnerable in vast numbers

This “strategy” would also clearly damage the economy

Today is Mango’s 8th birthday

He’s my boy

Full of love & joy & play

If you ask him: “Do you want to go for a walk tomorrow” or “Did you have a nice walk yesterday” he jumps up & get his lead

It’s cos he doesn’t dream of the future or cling to the past

He lives in the moment.
For his birthday I took Mango window shopping in Smithfields & Chinatown

It was a chance to try out his new present - the Lover’s Lead (“One of the stupidest inventions ever” Stephen Hawking / “I’m out!” @DeborahMeaden)

The birthday boy had some crispy duck & he’s now knackered ImageImageImageImage
In 1962, Marilyn Monroe shimmied onto the Madison Square Garden stage in a flesh-coloured gown covered in 2,500 rhinestones & serenaded JFK with ‘Happy Birthday’

The crowd went wild

Yesterday, Logan J Parker did the same thing for Mango on his birthday

The crowd also went wild

Tonight’s #supermoon is at its fullest

It is near its closest point to Earth in its monthly orbit & seem bigger & brighter than usual

April’s full moon is also known as the Pink Moon, as its appearance coincides with the flowering of a type of pink moss.
Astrophotographer, Andrew McCarthy, used 50,000 photos to produce this detailed image of the Moon.

The near side of the Moon is marked by dark volcanic maria ("seas"), which fill the spaces between bright ancient crustal highlands & prominent impact craters. (pic @Mario_Livio)

It comes 13 months after @BorisJohnson scrapped the govt’s anti-pandemic committee

It comes 4 years after #ExerciseCygnus found the UK was woefully unprepared.

Exercise Cygnus was a 2016 drill to show the UK's pandemic preparedness

Its recommendations weren't implemented

Ministers claim they thought they had been or plead total ignorance

@MattHancock claims he “was assured” recommendations had been implemented
“When it first came up in the media I asked my officials to go back & check that everything recommended by #ExerciseCygnus was done & that was the assurance I got,” says @MattHancock

I’ve been asking WHO these “officials” are. They were lying.
