As 2022 comes to a close, here’s a brief #cdnpoli year in review. In January/22 we saw the launch of a destabilization op (that just *happened* to coincide with the lead up to Putin’s attack on #Ukraine). #FreeDumbConvoy #FluTruxKlan
#FluTruxKlan #FreeDumbConvoy was pushed hard by multiple malign players & boosted by inauthentic activity, including by foreign threat actors. #Cdnpoli #CdnpoliYearInReview #goodbye2022
Feb/22 #NevrePoilievre officially launched his “prime minister” bid using #FluTruxKlan op, even though we’d just had an election months earlier & O’Toole was still #CPCldr.

OK. With Justin Trudeau's definite announcement that he *IS* staying on for a 4th election, allow me to recap my #cdnpoli megathread on why this was always the case. Read on for why I believe he will serve 15 years like dad rather than 10 as conventional wisdom would have it. 1/
2/ Start with this RCI article (2022 March 12) about his insistence upon staying. I started with this one just to wash off the negative vibes from the hive-mind #cdnmediafailed pundits.

"Will Justin Trudeau try to match Wilfrid Laurier?

Behind the scenes, the Prime Minister says he is « enthusiastic » at the idea of leading his party to the next election."

Politics is often about crafting a statement that is technically correct but which allows for misleading impressions to be drawn when those impressions can be politically beneficial. In that light:

Dr Lewis’s blog on the Nuremberg principles is notable in that the specific examples cited (two of which dealt with Black and Indigenous people in North America) are good reminders of how we have failed to meet those principles.

2/12
They particularly show how marginalized people have been mistreated medically by governments, particularly if also racialized. Dr Lewis’s specific examples are indisputable, and she absolutely is correct in pointing them out for the horrible wrongs they are.

Among the countless un-conservative features of today's right wing, possibly the most un-conservative is their total lack of cultural memory. Collectively, the Canadian right's grasp of history is roughly equal to that of pubic lice.

Now, sometimes that amnesia is deliberate...
Take the right's current pants-wetting hysteria over the "Great Reset", allegedly being enacted by a shadowy cabal of globalists headed by Klaus Schwab. Yes, it's a deeply unhinged conspiracy theory on the order of the Elders of Zion. It's also espoused by mainstream CPC figures
Some Rebel Media chud is apparently doing a "documentary" on it.

Here's the thing. The North American right have been the world's foremost disciples of globalisation for over 40 years...

. @PierrePoilievre A PM may need to make life & death decisions in a pandemic. If you rely on hacks rather than experts, you're not ready!

Claiming gossip is news is not Rupa's 1st rodeo.

FALSE: Court Documents Reveal Canada’s Travel Ban Had No Scientific Basis

FALSE: Jennifer Little led a "secretive Gov panel that "crafted the mandate."

Little implements Canada's policies with the help of her team & its not secret. Moreover contrary to Rupa's claim, Little is on the web!!

The Canadian government says you don't have to be light-skinned to be considered white!

A @CitImmCanada anti-racism glossary now defines the term "white people" as anyone who doesn't think Canada is systemically racist and a product of colonial evil.

canada.ca/en/immigration…
@CitImmCanada And here the wokesters in Ottawa reveal their ambition as plain as day (buried 17 pages into their anti-racism ideological purity guide)

The parasitic woke deep state silently scaffolding itself onto every level of government plans on staying here FOREVER.
@CitImmCanada I seriously would love to hear what #CPCLdr candidates have to say to federal plans to "permanently embed" far-left woke ideology into the public sector "regardless of changes in government or personnel."

A @CPC_HQ executive just gave me a glimpse behind the curtain. The party has been in turmoil for a year, divided between convoy conservatives & classic conservatives.

But the leadership race turned the rivalry into a calculated cheating exercise. They manipulated the process.
So egregious was the pro-Poilievre side that they sandbagged the other campaigns with trivial processes, impossible deadlines, and in Patrick Brown's case a trumped up charge that they refused to elaborate on.
They wanted Jodoin's name secret for a week longer. This is why Jean Charest's team hired her then fired her, because they had no idea she was the "whistleblower" b/c the upper brass wanted her anonymity in place so they could sewer Charest next.

Piece coming tomorrow. #cpcldr

Tearing down institutions for short-term political gain is not Conservative. It’s dangerous and short-sighted.

Mr. Poilievre is skilled at pointing out problems with institutions, but after 18 years in power, he doesn't have a single serious solution as to how he'd fix them.
I believe in serious reform, not destruction.

Here's a few examples of what I mean:

🏦The Bank of Canada needs to be more transparent with Canadians how their decisions are made, and the evidence used to make those decisions.
⚖️The Ethics Commissioner needs to be given real teeth, so that when politicians like Justin Trudeau break the law, they face meaningful consequences.

📱The CRTC regulates far too much outside of its mandate and core expertise. They should never wade into content regulation.

Conservative leadership Q1 fundraising (up to Mar. 31):

$545,298 - Poilievre
$490,088 - Charest
$225,571 - Lewis
$115,775 - Brown
$90,945 - Aitchison
$53,987 - Baber

#cpcldr
Each candidate got their fundraising up and running at different points near the end of March. Per day it breaks down this way:

$54.5K/day - Poilievre
$37.7K/day - Charest
$16.5K/day - Brown
$15.1K/day - Lewis
$8.3K/day - Aitchison
$6.7K/day - Baber
It's hard to judge Poilievre's fundraising, since he declared so early but only started registering donations as of around Mar. 22.

⚠️CPC member data has been stolen ⚠️

By now you all know how much I hate disinformation & internet fraud.

Prepare for a very weird tale involving at least one CPC leadership candidate, Kyiv and hundreds of CPC members. 🧵

Earlier today I received an email from a CPC leadership campaign thanking me for pledging to donate $120 to the candidate.

I never made such a pledge. I’m staying neutral.

Immediately I was on alert. 2/14
I quickly messaged the campaign manager and asked if this was a marketing ploy or just a mistake.

I was told that their data shows I filled out an online pledge form on March 19 at 9:55am.

Except I was driving around Bay of Quinte at that time. Weird. 3/14

CPC Interim Leader Candice Bergen just announced her shadow cabinet changes. Biggest shock: Michelle Rempel Garner, one of the party's most prominent MPs, no longer has a critic role. #cpcldr #cdnpoli
Rempel Garner has been nominated to sit on NSICOP, the national security committee of Parliament, which the Conservatives under former leader Erin O'Toole were boycotting.
Eric Duncan also appears to have lost his role on the front bench. The two-time Ontario MP served as O'Toole's caucus liaison, a job that will now be done by Regina's Warren Steinley.

Some loose threads. Not sure how they tie together quite yet, but I’m putting them out, untied.

There was a definite connection between Ezra Levant’s “Rebel”, Keean Bexte propaganda, Post Millennial, #TrueNorthCentre, & the promotion of both #NevrePoilievre & #FluTruxKlan op.
I’ll primarily use #TrueNorthCentre as the example, but the same thing was happening across RW propaganda media, including #Postmedia products. Namely, the takedown of O’Toole & the amplifying of Poilevre…using a litany of fake accounts. #NevrePoilievre #FluTruxKlan #cpcldr
The amplification of tweets that involved O’Toole’s leadership “review” saw a steady supply of fake accounts claiming to want Poilevre. To make it seem as though there was a large grassroots demand for #NevrePoilievre.

Pierre Poilievre worked to oust #ErinOToole just as a large scale info-ops attack is launched in 🇨🇦. Now Poilievre says he’s “running for Prime Minister of 🇨🇦”. He hasn’t even won #CPC leadership, yet foreign troll farms are retweeting him en masse. None of this is coincidental.
The past week+ I noticed a huge uptick in troll accounts amplifying Poilievre. It was creepy. Poilievre routinely gets boosted by fake “Canada Proud” & “Rebel” type troll networks. But this was different. Foreign troll networks amplifying the same messaging…& PP. #cdnpoli #CPC ImageImageImageImage

Despite his supporters that still exist in Canada, the Trump brand has become especially toxic in this country since he helped to foment an attack by supporters on the US Capitol on January 6. 1/25 #canpoli #CPCldr #CPC #TakeCanadaBack #cdnmedia

Conservative Party leader @erinotoole not surprisingly is trying to distance himself, though statements like "Take Canada Back" used during his leadership campaign echo the shallow populism of Trumpism. 2/25

The question arises then how much has Trumpism infected Canadian conservative politics? I know most of my conservative-voting extended family despise Trump and everything he stands for, but there are those for whom Trump is not just a hero, but a messianic figure. 3/25

Fascinating, Leslyn Lewis won... Saskatchewan. #cnpoli #CPCLeadership #cpcldr
Lewis’s win in Saskatchewan is interesting. She had solid support from some conservative heavyweights in the prov. She is a social conservative, pro-life. Fascinating to note the impact of groups like Campaign for Life Coalition on the ground/at the ballot box #cpcldr #cdnpoli
It is indeed interesting that a Black woman candidate to the Conservative leadership won in #Saskatchewan. #CPCLeadership #conservativeleadership #cpcldr #cdnpoli
