De grap is: sinds ik moslim ben denken sommige mensen ook dat ik geen autochtoon ben en gaan me ook ineens anders behandelen.

Mijn standaardreactie: hetzelfde terugzeggen. Dus ik complimenteer mensen met dat ze werken, of met hun Nederlands, of simpelweg met dat mensen-zoals-zij er ook zijn. En ik vraag waar ze vandaan komen en dan “Maar waar kom je écht vandaan?”
