BTG Pactual sobre CSN Q1: SN reported a decent set of results, thanks to its mining division (once again). Adjusted EBITDA came out at R$1.3bn, bang in-line with our estimate and -23% y/y (note: accounting EBITDA at “only” R$511mn). #CSNA3 #steel #mining #Brazil #earnings
Its mining division accounted for near 70% of EBITDA generation, but we were pleased to see its steel division gain some ground (EBITDA growing q/q after maintenance; still a low base).
On the more negative side, CSN’s net debt figures expanded yet again to R$32.8bn (leverage at 4.8x), which continues to be a structural concern for equity holders.
Resolvi avaliar se o método "Cotação segue o Lucro (ou o Prejuízo)" poderia ter antecipado o crash de 2008. Para tanto utilizei como dados o LL entre 2000 / 2007 e como última cotação a do final do mês de abril/2008.
A opção pela cotação desse mês foi por dois motivos: já se teria à época os dados consolidados dos resultadas das empresas alusivos ao ano de 2007 e estaríamos em um período antecedente à queda abrupta que se sucedeu, marcadamente no segundo semestre 2008.
