When I came out to my dad 20 years ago, he told me the idea of two men being intimate disgusted him.

Here's what happened next. #FathersDay 🧵 👇
By 18, our relationship was...strained. As a kid, I preferred Baby-Sitters Club books to basketball. I was (and still am) a sensitive person—a stray comment could swerve into screaming, sobbing, and the silent treatment.
My dad had a walk-it-off mentality when it came to my problems. Bullying? Insecurities? Suck it up and stop crying—sympathy is for the weak. (Typical Dad stuff.)

1/ School superintendent flat out lies to parents to keep CSAM grooming books in Texas schools @McKinneyISD. He blames, "political agendas, sensationalism, and exaggeration." He is a #groomer.

"McKinney ISD in no way supports obscene or pornographic materials of any kind in our public-school libraries."

False. He doesn't tell you his definition of those terms means only those already adjudged as much by a judge and only on a case by case basis.
"On rare occasion, it is possible that a book ... could slip through the cracks...."

False. He doesn't tell you his books come from lists recommended by others that are known to make inappropriate materials available and other superintendents aren't so fooled.

🚨🚨An urgent 🧵 about #COVID in Indiana.

1/ Dear Hoosiers: We have a #COVID problem. Our 7-day average positivity rate is hovering around 11%. The last time we saw positivity like this – May, 20202; Oct, 2020; Jan, 2021.
2/ Some counties in Indiana have 7-day #COVID positivity rates nearing 20%. I’m talking to you Posey, Warrick, Spencer, Dubois, Orange, Jennings, Clay, Hendricks, Putnam, Vermillion, Warren and Carroll.
3/ In a few days, there won’t be enough Twitter characters allowed to list counties in Indiana with >20% #COVID positivity in one Tweet. While that may be an interesting new way of marking outbreak severity, it is deeply disturbing and very dangerous.

In personal terms, nothing is more needful in the church or society than this: raising up godly fathers.

Being a father through marriage is challenging, exhausting, costly--and worth it all.

Today, when men are struggling greatly, let us recommit to training sons to be fathers.
The sense of adventure many men have is meant, in a big way, for marriage, family, and fatherhood.

This is the great task before many of us: to love one wife like Christ, to raise godly children, to build a happy family, to leave everything on the field when we die.

#FathersDay
May we be men who lead continually, love generously, repent regularly, die to self daily, contend convictionally, laugh loudly, rejoice in Christ unceasingly, protect sacrificially, provide unfailingly...

and then, when life ebbs, die well, leaving it all on the field.
