With all the talk of waging war on the GOP conference, I’m curious what some Republicans have to say about backing potential replacements that have pretty moderate records, especially on immigration, border security, climate, etc.
If the issue is that Cheney is antagonistic towards Trump, wouldn’t a replacement on record voting repeatedly to oppose his policies be as well? What’s the measure here? What am I missing?
BTW, voting against border wall funding, for amnesty, for the Climate Action Now (following Paris Accord) bill, etc is beyond simply “moderate."

I’ve been civilly critical of Romney since 2012 (his campaign once complained to my former network about my critical analysis of his MA healthcare plan) and nothing has changed. He had nothing to lose with this vote, he just wanted the optics.
He pursues the media accolades because he’d rather receive praise from the people who characterized him as a lady-killing, haircut assaulting, dog murdering tax cheat than those who agree with him on 80% of his values.
Ultimately, I agree with @JohnCornyn on this (just asked him last hour on air) in that Romney reps Utah and it is his voters’ decision regarding response. They know who they elected and elections matter. #DanaRadio

Additionally: What 2A supporters are at the table helping to draft so protections are maintained? Does it only specifically target guns as weapons? Does it include mental health treatment? Would abuse be made a crime, felony? Many are legitimately concerned.
Lastly, is there advanced notice before confiscation? Is there a warrant involved? There was already one death involving a man on whom such an order was visited before dawn. In an era where criminal justice reform is needed & people distrust LEO, how will this affect?

Hearing from numerous folks in different counties that they’re being out-organized by out-state funded progressive groups while the Texas GOP snoozes at the wheel. Many city council and other races. The feeling is that the state party isn’t taking it seriously.
This is exactly how Cruz came so close to Beto last election. The ground organization effort is a disaster and I’ve spoken to a handful of veteran grassroots organizers who say they feel left out on their own to battle well-funded astroturfed efforts. No data sharing, nothing.
The party will ignore this at their own political peril and it won’t become evident until they have their backsides handed to them in 2020 and GOP lose any competitive change to regain the WH again. @TexasGOP needs to wake up and wake up fast. I’ll discuss on #DanaRadio tomorrow.
The moderate Democrats are now the fringe within their own party. The radical, socialist elements used for so long as their foot soldiers to GOTV have now taken over — as evidenced by Pelosi backing away and falling into line.
They will allow themselves to be completely consumed by the elements within their party that excuse anti-Semitism, so as to not anger that group, and retain power.
It’s all about power. Power is their virtue, power is their principle. Now you see why @LindseyGrahamSC said during the Kavanaugh hearings “Boy you all want power and I hope you never get it.” Power at all costs.
